Tower Bell

In the tower of St. Nicholas Church, there are two still active and historic bells. One of them was cast in 1756 by the bell founder Johann Gottfried Anthony. The neck is decorated with a floral frieze.

The inscription visible on it reads: “SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTUM FUDIT ME JOH GOTTER ANTHONY 1765” [Blessed be the name of the Lord, cast me, Joh. Gotter Anthony, 1765]. On the middle of the body, there is the coat of arms of Gdańsk on one side, and on the other side, a maker’s mark and the inscription “WALCEBAÜDE”.
