Officer’s Undress Coat, 2nd Infantry Regiment of the Duchy of Warsaw

An undress coat (daily coat) according to the 1810 “Dress Regulations.” The navy blue woolen coat is fastened on the chest with nine large buttons featuring the number “2.” The collar and cuffs are also navy blue. The ribbon of the Order of Saint Stanislaus is attached to the third button from the top. Under the coat is a white cotton vest with pockets, fastened with small buttons featuring the number “2.” The chain of a watch fob tucked into the vest pocket is visible. The gold epaulettes are for an infantry captain. On the left shoulder is an epaulette with gold fringe; the right shoulder is missing the counter-epaulette (the one without fringe).
