Mass Chalice

Six-lobed, high foot with smooth fields. Each field is decorated with an engraved vine scroll with bunches of grapes; in one of the fields, an Eucharistic motif (cross / host in glory) is placed, enclosed in a delicate beaded outline. At the base of the foot runs a low openwork frieze with a geometric pattern.

Hexagonal, profiled stem. Its upper part is decorated with two zones of rectangular enamel panels in shades of white, blue, and green, with quatrefoil motifs. Between the zones is a nodus in the form of a flattened sphere, covered with dense, three-dimensional ornament with motifs of leaves and bunches of grapes. Smooth bowl, held in a calyx topped with a tracery frieze. An inscription band with colored enamel runs around the calyx. The whole is maintained in the Neo-Gothic-Neo-Renaissance style. The chalice was probably a collective gift from the community of Wrocław researchers.

Inscriptions: Inscription: CALICEM SALUTAREM ACCIPIAM (“I will take the cup of salvation”, Psalm 116).
