Marian chasuble with the coat of arms of Suffragan Balthasar Liesch von Hornau

Roman style chasuble (fiddleback), bottom of front and back slightly rounded. Circular neck opening finished with braided red-and-gold cord. Sides made of large-repeat Jacquard silk with a dark-golden pomegranate motif on a cream ground; lining of natural (yellowish) cotton printed with a red large-repeat stylized pomegranate pattern corresponding to the outer fabric. Center front column of wide, dark-golden Jacquard-woven tape, edged with cord, with motifs of a Neo-Gothic rosette, stylized tree, three small rosettes, and names “Ihesus” and “Maria” (black Gothic script). The back features a decorative cross-shaped column of analogous Jacquard tape, edged with gold galloon and cord. Cross arms filled with Neo-Gothic rosettes in green, blue, and red. In the center of the cross are the names “Ihesus” and “Maria” (black Gothic script), below is a stylized tree with two birds (doves), the repeated name “Ihesus”, and three small rosettes. At the bottom of the column is the hand-embroidered coat of arms of Bishop Balthasar Liesch von Hornau.
